Creases of clay

Geometric patterns are deconstructed, formed by my hands into soft creases of clay. Collected in new compositions the creases find their way into new shapes. The different shapes vary in their volume and dissolute themselves from the known. By creating a space of soft, poetic, but excessive shapes and patterns, I play with the viewers perception and the illusion of the material. It offers another way of looking at the softness clay has in the early stages, by both showing and hiding the pattern the use of 2 dimensional pattern is explored. Not everything is obvious so there for we are able to create our own relationship to what we see.
